Could you be part of our future?

Updated: 6th December 2023

Knexusport. platform has been developed to support elite and amateur athletes and players to access sports medical imaging and sports physiology services easily across the UK, Europe and the World.

Our ambition is to become a leading platform for the management of sports related medical services. Including how we look at developing injury prediction, prevention and how we work with providers to develop world class service provision.

The problem.

  • Elite sports clubs medical teams spend hours per week sourcing scans from local providers and chase availability.

  • Amateur athletes have very little access to MSK specific or sports specific facilities.

  • Elite sports clubs do not have relationships with Universities that have Physiology Labs to do full suites of testing.

  • Amateur athletes have very limited access to sports physiology testing.

  • Specialist MSK Radiologists are spread thinly, and often local sites will only use their own staff - meaning clubs are charged for second medical opinions.

  • Club Sports Medical teams are a very dynamic fluid workforce - meaning each time there is a change there is a risk of changing providers or needing to rebuild relationships with local providers.

Who we are.

knexusport. has been created and developed by Luke Minshall. Luke has been working in Healthcare since 2009 and in Elite Sports Medicine for 5 years supporting access to independent provider services for sports clubs.

In April 2023, Luke made the decision to develop knexusport. a platform that links services with clubs.

In June 2023 the platform was launched, immediately getting interest from providers, clubs, insurers and trust schemes.

Current Contracts and Agreements.

The interest in our platform has continued to grow. We currently hold contracts or agreements with the following:

Health Partners (Europe) Limited: The Trust Scheme behind the Premier League, English Football League and English Cricket Board. Our agreement with Health Partners allows us to be registered as a provider to provide services to any of the clubs that operate within these bodies.

Alliance Medical Limited: We have a contract with AML to provide imaging services across their 15 sites in the UK, with expansion across Ireland and Europe an option in 2024.

Leeds Beckett University: Carnegie School of Sport: to provide sports science and human performance services initially for 6 months with rolling provision.

Pro Scan Imaging: based within Pall Mall Medical providing scans through the facility. 1.5T scanner, CT scanner and XRay on site.

Prime Health and Medical Imaging Partnership: we have agreement in principle with Prime/MIP to utilise their scanning services across their 15 sites. We will initially start with the three Prime sites before offering their mobile units.

Our Ambition.

knexusport. will become the number one provider of sports scanning and physiology services in the UK by the end of 2025.

We will become the largest used platform in Europe by 2025 and globally by 2028.

Utilising this data we will develop our AI software that will enable us to predict injury and rehabilitation.

We aim to provide all major sporting events with our medical booking platform by 2028.

The Market.

Across the UK alone there is 29 million sporting injuries per annum.

Of this 19.3m are new sporting injuries.

10m of these are recurrent and require on average 6 days away from work or exercise.

6.4m of these episodes require contact with medical treatment providers.

82% of these have medical imaging as part of their pathway (5.2m)

This allows for a total market of circa £5.2m x £450 (average imaging price): £2.34bn

We will target to have acquired 45% of this market in the UK alone by 2028: £1.05bn revenue.

Generating a profit based on 10% profit margin of £105m per annum.

Our Competition.

Currently there are no other providers in this space.

The nearest competitors or those businesses that could do a pivot in their business would be scan.com or the large hospital chains.

Scan.com does not have the specialist knowledge in radiologists or has a wish to attract sport referral. For general scans for general issues scan.com are leaders in the market.

Large Hospital Chains are in conversations about joining our platform - the investment to create a platform like knexusport would see still single sites and single providers with the same radiologists - it moves the current problems into a digital platform it doesnt solve the wider problems.

Our journey to date.

We have already invested £96k into the business to build the platform. This has seen us develop a fully working solution which has active users.

  • We have rebuilt the platform from start to ensure full user experience.

  • We built in functionality to allow API integration.

  • We have providers actively putting their services on our platform.

  • In the first three months of operating we have broken even financially (excluding Founder salary).

  • We have significant conversations in the pipeline for wider partnerships.

How we grow.

Our growth is limited by our budget. We are in a position where by increasing investment in the platform we can market it to all clubs on a personalised level.

We currently are limited by funding, and our raise is to over come this. Our founder has placed his own money into the platform and taken the development risk. Our founder wants the investment to allow clear focus on the growth and to develop the platform to its full potential.

Our growth will come from:

  • Word of mouth

  • Direct visits to clubs

  • Sponsorship of Sports and Exercise Medicine conferences

  • Getting clubs to use the platform once - we know our service beats anything else available in the UK.

Our continued growth.

Our intention is to host the following services on our platform:

  • Sports Physiology and Human Performance Services

  • Physiotherapy, Chiropractic and Osteopathy Services

  • Blood Testing Service (developed and run through knexusport)

  • Female Athlete specific services

  • Orthopaedic and Trauma Services

  • Nutrition and Dietetic Services

We would also wish depending on the investor to look at some supply chain purchase to support the delivery of our services. This includes image transfer software, patient record software and the wider sports medical management systems.

Our Financials.

The platform was built and developed from April 2023 to June 2023.

On the 12th June we launched our open market phase to allow clubs and athletes to book into the platform.

Since then we have continued to make additional investment into our platform.

Since June 2023 to November 2023 we have generated a revenue of circa £25k

Of this £25k we have run a profit margin of 12%

Excluding director loans and director salary - we have made an operating profit of c£3000

The average professional football club spends £36k a year on imaging.

Fundraising.

We want to raise £400,000 for 17.5% stake in the business.

The money will be spent on:

  • 30% Salaries

  • 60% Marketing and Sales

  • 5% Continued platform development

  • 5% Regulatory
